Ilkley is a small town about 20 miles north west of the city of Leeds in West Yorkshire , England on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The Moors overlooking the town inspired the famous song "On Ilkla' Moor Baht'at" Ilkley Camera Club was founded in 1953 and has a very enthusiastic membership of about 80. The objects of the club are to promote the art of photography in all its forms by mutual assistance, demonstrations, lectures, excursions and any other methods conducive to its advancement. Ilkley Camera Club welcomes as members anyone who is interested in photography, from beginner to experienced amateur All club members have a common interest in the enjoyment and appreciation of good photography, slides and prints. They seek to improve their skills and standards by learning from other club members and visiting lecturers. Also by entering regular club competitions where you can see whether you agree with the judges comments. All the activities are conducted in a friendly atmosphere where new members are always welcome Digital imaging is moving very quickly, and many members are becoming expert in the intricacies of computers as well as retaining their skills in the traditional darkroom
